3D Printing at GSPL

How this works:

  • Use this form to submit a 3d print request.
  • Library staff will contact you to arrange a consultation. Consultations will take approximately 15 minutes, and can be booked virtually (via microsoft Teams) or in-person.
  • During this consultation, Library staff will review your request and demonstrate how the files are prepped for 3d printing. If your file requires any modification, or if you have any questions about the 3d printing process those can be addressed during your consultation.
  • While we aim to complete these print requests as quickly as possible, it may take several days or weeks before your print is ready to pick up depending on demand. A more accurate timeline for pickup will be provided during your consultation.
  • You will receive an email or phone call notifying you when your print is ready to be picked up. You may pickup your print at any Sudbury Libraries branch.

Cost and Limitations

  • The maximum print time is 6 hours. In most cases we can make some adjustments during your consultation to make sure your print fits within this time.
  • Cost of printing is $1 plus $0.10 per gram of filament used, payable upon pickup.
  • While we try our best to avoid print failures by reviewing the prints during the consultation, we cannot guarantee every print will be successful.
  • Requesters under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during virtual or in-person consultations.
